KIWANIS CLUB OF MACON
EXPECTATIONS OF MEMBERS
Bylaws Article III, Section 4:
Members (other than honorary) have the duty to attend meetings, participate in service projects and other activities, pay club financial obligations, wear the Kiwanis emblem, be appointed to committees, be elected as officers or directors, and attend Kiwanis conferences and conventions.
Bylaws Article III, Section 6:
All members of this club must believe in and subscribe to the Objects of Kiwanis International and be of good character and community standing.
All members should be Kiwanians, not merely a member of a Kiwanis Club. Kiwanis is an international service organization with a commitment to the highest ideals as expressed in the Objects of Kiwanis International. In particular, Kiwanis is committed to “Serving the Children of the World,” which is also our motto as of July 2005. One logo on our weekly bulletin is “Young Children PRIORITY ONE”. The monthly magazine “Kiwanis” and the monthly Georgia Kiwanian have excellent articles and reports on the many good causes supported by Kiwanis around the world and around the state. Our club does much for the local community but has the potential to do much more. To meet the bylaw requirements, each member needs to come to meetings, attend training conferences, be active on at least one committee, volunteer for activities and projects, be current with dues and other financial obligations, wear the Kiwanis pin, and be willing to serve on the board at some point. A partial list of opportunities to participate in our club is on the other side of this page. Through it all, the idea is to have fun while serving the community and particularly the children of the community.
